My nanny days are almost over.

Feeling sad about leaving a job is a new thing for me. Typically, once the 2 week notice is in I count the minutes until it is over! That is definitely not the case this time.

The family I've been working with for a year and a half is scheduled to have their 3rd child in two weeks! The mom will be staying home with the twins and new baby. I'm so excited to find out if the new baby will be a boy or a girl!

I've been wanting to start a daycare out of our home for a long time, so this seemed like a good time to do it. I'm really excited to get it going, but I'm definitely sad about the fact that I will no longer be caring for the girls. They have been a wonderful family to work for and I feel really lucky to have had this job. My last day is Friday:-( I'm sure my being pregnant will not help with the emotions of not taking care of them anymore and jumping into something new!

Here's hoping it will be a smooth transition! I don't have any families lined up for my daycare yet. Eek! I do have an ad going in the paper tomorrow and the signs I ordered should be ready by Friday. Hopefully that advertising will bring in the phone calls!

I'm half way there!!!

I'm 20 weeks pregnant! Wahooo! I really can't believe it. Little Anderson has been giving me some pretty big kicks lately. I love it! I just wish it would happen when Eric is around. Every time he tries to feel it, the little bugger stops moving.

Our ultrasound is on Wednesday. I can't wait!!! I'm nervous, but really trying to stay positive. The main thing, of course, is that we want to see a healthy baby in there. We'd also love it if they can get a shot of "the goods"! My gut is telling me it's a girl, but we'lll see!

The House

I thought I'd ad some updated pictures of the house. We haven't done too much. Just a lot of paint! The daycare is also looking pretty good. If I do say so myself!

Here's the upstairs bathroom. I painted it chocolate brown.

The living room....painted chocolate brown and a creamy yellow.

I painted the end of the hallway the chocolate brown, too. That plaque says, "And they lived happily ever after..." I know, I'm a little cheesy!

We also got rid of that crazy green that was in one of the upstairs bedrooms. Well, kinda! It has 3 coats of yellow on it and you can still see the green under it. Ugh! Who paints their room that crazy of a color??? We ran out of paint and were a little burnt on that project, so hopefully it'll get fixed soon! I think the next project will be a nursery, though. Yay! Our ultrasound is scheduled for April 1st. Hopefully they will be able to tell us the sex, so I can start planning!

It moved!

I've felt a few flutters from Baby Anderson over the past couple of weeks. Today was the first day that I definitely felt some kicks! It's such a weird and amazing feeling! I can't believe I'm almost half way there. It's finally starting to feel like this pregnancy is moving!

I also went in and got a new do today! I went to a stylist in Zimmerman. She was awesome:-) Her website is www.julie'splacesalon.com if you want to check her out! Here's a picture of my fabulous new do....

The pictures are from 16 weeks and 14 weeks. I had my 16 week appointment today! Everything went great. Now that morning sickness is over, I have put on some weight. The doctor was happy about that. I had blood drawn for the quad screening today. Abnormal results could indicate a genetic disorder, such as down syndrome or spina bifida. Our next appointment is at 19 weeks and we will be scheduling our 20 week ultrasound. I'm very excited and a little nervous. Hopefully we'll get back normal blood test results and have a great u/s, so I can relax the rest of the pregnancy!
We had a busy weekend of preparing for the daycare and our baby. We decided to switch around the bedrooms. We were in the 12x24 room in the basement. This summer we plan on making that room into two. We decided it would be best to have Caitlyn and the office down there, so we started moving the furniture around on Sunday. It was a lot of work and there's still a lot to be done, but we made a big dent in it! Eric's friend even stopped by to move the big stuff. Thank goodness! Sunday night we went to one of my favorite restaurants, Benihana's. It was delicious! Caitlyn hadn't been there in a few years and thought watching the chef was awesome!
